Show Summary
Finding time and space to create is the constant aim for every artist. Life is full for all of us—we all have to find a way to balance various responsibilities for work, home, family, community, church, and more. Whether you are pursuing an artistic or creative outlet as a casual hobbyist or a part-time professional, it takes a concerted effort to reserve and keep time for developing your craft. And as if time constraints aren’t enough, making space for art is made more difficult when feelings of uncertainty plague you, making you wonder if the pursuit is worth the effort at all.
In this episode of Persuasion, Erin Straza and Hannah Anderson continue their new series called The Creative Process by inviting artist Michelle Berg Radford to a conversation about making space for creative work. Michelle shares her personal philosophy for making time and space for her work. Creatives of all sorts will appreciate her perspective on the place and importance of art as well as being a good steward of the gifts God has entrusted to each one of us. Conversation also touches on the importance of keeping your creative space—both the physical place and your mental zone—clear of competing voices and priorities so that your art is birthed from the Spirit’s prompting in you. Listen in for dialogue on issues like these as we process the creative life, then continue the conversation on Twitter @PersuasionCAPC or in the CAPC members-only community on Facebook.
